Jerome David Salinger Died Wednesday at age 91 in his home in New Hampshire. He is and has been one of my favorite authors for a long long time. He will be sorely missed even though he hasn't published since 1965. One of my most favorite pieces of literature ever written is Salinger's "To Esme-With Love and Squalor". This short story is truly awe inspiring for any amateur writer. Of course Salinger is better know for "Catcher in the Rye" and his chronicling of his fictional Glass family. All in all a great writer/recluse died Wednesday, I hope I get a piece in the Times when that happens to me.
